PART FOUR of a four part series exploring how to rebuild your strength, and life.

On my journey to reclaim pain-free movement, I came across amazing practitioners who each added a unique piece to my healing puzzle. At times, I felt like a living science experiment, testing every method and recommendation to figure out what would work for my body.

One experience, in particular, shifted my perspective. A remarkable practitioner instructed me to “stack my chakras” while riding a stationary bike. It seemed so simple, but it sparked my curiosity and completely changed the way I approached movement. I started experimenting with this idea, aligning my energy centers—my inner posture—during workouts, and I kept a journal of the whole process. I wrote about everything: good days, bad days, breakthroughs, and setbacks. It became a kind of “if this, then that” journey. Each entry helped me understand my body’s connection to my energy and form a little better.

Over time, I realized movement wasn’t just about building strength or flexibility—it was about alignment, both physical and energetic. Every challenge became an opportunity to deepen my awareness, and each day brought new insights. When I was aware of my energy, my body naturally followed, moving more smoothly and functionally. It wasn’t just about healing—it was about awakening my inner posture, which made me stronger and more balanced overall.

Discover the Power of Your Inner Posture in Exercise

We all know that proper form is key to any workout, but there’s a deeper layer that’s often overlooked: our body’s energy points. Whether you believe in God, a Higher Power, the universe, or just your own body’s energy (hello, chakras!), all of these beliefs lead us toward something bigger. And guess what? You don’t need to subscribe to any specific belief system for this to work. The magic happens when you tap into a deeper connection within yourself.

If connecting to a “Higher Source” feels like a lot, keep it simple. Use your chakra points as visual guides during your workout. As your awareness grows, you may naturally develop a deeper connection, but for now, just focus on using these energy centers to bring more mindfulness to your movements with these steps.

Step 1: Center Yourself To Create A Foundation

Before you start, take a few deep breaths. Visualize your chakra points, from the root at the base of your spine to the crown at the top of your head. Breathe deeply and feel them align, creating a subtle but powerful shift in your posture. This alignment strengthens your centerline, pulling everything inward and grounding you.

When I used to tell myself to “stand straight” or “pull my shoulders back,” it always felt forced, like I was trying too hard and certain muscles became tense to hold the form. But when I visualized my energy centers aligning, everything just clicked. My posture naturally adjusted, and I moved more freely. This simple practice sets the stage for mindful movement and gives you a solid foundation for your workout.

Step 2: Energy Flow with Each Repetition

As you move through each exercise, imagine your energy flowing upward from your root chakra through your crown with every repetition. For example, during squats, visualize energy rising as you lower yourself, flowing through each energy point. Soon enough, you’ll notice a huge difference between just doing the exercise and actually moving with energy flow.

Practice energy flow for a few weeks, and then when your form starts to falter, take note of which chakra might be out of alignment. This awareness helps you make small adjustments and regain balance.

Step 3: Release Negative Energy and Imbalances

If you feel tightness in your hips during a squat, it could signal an imbalance in your sacral chakra, which is connected to emotions and creativity. Ask yourself: Are you holding onto tension or past emotions in that area? Is there an injury or muscle imbalance?

As I continued to visualize energy flow during workouts, I felt myself naturally being pulled toward my centerline. It wasn’t just about energy flow anymore—it became about release. I used the flow of energy to flush out negative thoughts, muscle imbalances and emotional blockages.

Each exercise became a chance to check in with myself. If I felt out of alignment, I would use the energy flow to release anything that no longer served me. If I struggled to stay strong in a particular energy point, I’d reflect on which chakra was involved and explore ways to realign it. This practice helped me understand the emotional and physical layers I needed to address.

Step 4: Adjust Your Practice  with Reflection

After each workout, take a moment to reflect. Did you notice any imbalances, weaknesses, or discomfort? Jot them down or keep a mental note. This reflection helps you tweak your routine. For instance, if you notice one shoulder moving forward during squats, you might want to add some exercises that target shoulder stability or core strength.

Understanding the link between your energy points and your body can help you release what’s not serving you and restore balance. Over time, this practice not only improves your workouts but also boosts your overall well-being.

Use Visualization on Low-Energy Days

We all have those days when our energy feels like it’s running on empty. On those days, I found that simple visualization techniques—like focusing on each energy point or the colors of each chakra—helped me stay connected to my body’s energy. It doesn’t require deep spiritual beliefs, just a willingness to stay tuned in to what your body needs.

Elevate Your Life Through Your Inner Posture

The journey to connecting with your inner posture goes far beyond just improving physical form—it’s about aligning your entire being. As you tune into the energy within, you unlock a deeper connection between your mind and body, allowing you to move with greater ease, strength, and balance in both your workouts and your life.

By embracing this alignment, you don’t just enhance your physical performance; you also foster resilience, release emotional blockages, and strengthen your inner foundation. It’s a practice of mindful movement that grows over time, helping you navigate challenges with grace and power.

Remember, it all starts with awareness. Begin by visualizing your energy, aligning your chakra points, and allowing your body to guide you. With each breath and every movement, you are not just working out—you are elevating your entire life, becoming more connected, centered, and empowered.

Your inner posture can be the key to moving through life with strength, balance, and clarity. Take the first step, and watch how everything else aligns.
