So, every person you know has a nasty cold – except you. Time to take all the necessary precautions to keep yourself sneeze-free: scrub your hands regularly, don’t breathe on the subway, and load up on powerful vitamins and nutrients to keep your immune system running at maximum capacity. Just one serving of this smoothie contains more than 75 percent of your daily value of vitamins A and C, both of which support your defense system in the battle against colds and viruses. It’s also jam-packed with vitamins B6, D and K, as well as folate, copper, iron, magnesium, potassium, selenium and zinc.
• 2 cups low-fat milk
• 1 Tbsp golden flax seed
• 2 Tbsp unsalted Brazil nuts
• 1 banana
• 2 cups spinach
• ¾ cup frozen pineapple chunks
• ¾ cup frozen mango chunks
1. Add first 3 ingredients and blend on medium-high for 50 seconds.
2. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
